1974 Piper Archer for sale — SOLD

Flies and Floats is pleased to offer N32355, a 1974 Piper Cherokee Archer with 4726 TTAF and 602 SFRM (2015). Piper made the Archer I for two years only in 1974 and 1975 — although it’s still considered a PA-28-180, it saw several airframe improvements over the old Cherokee 180.

The Archer I got a longer wing and stabilator than the Cherokee 180, plus a five-inch fuselage stretch. The wing still retains the traditional rectangular “Hershey Bar” planform, but both the wing and the stabilator are approximately two feet longer.  The airframe was updated again in 1976 with the advent of the Archer II, which got the Warrior tapered wing and was designated the PA-28-181.

The Archer I has appreciably better glide and low-speed handling characteristics than the stubby-wing PA28s with the short stabilator, and additional space for passengers and cargo. N32355 has LoPresti boom beam wingtips with HID lights — the “zip tips” add a few knots in cruise. This airplane also has Rosen visors, opening windows with cool scoops on both sides and a Bruce’s custom cover. Paint is 8/10 and interior is 7/10.

N32355’s panel has been nicely updated and is a very capable IFR platform.

  • GNS430W with current nav database
  • S-TEC 50 autopilot with altitude hold and GPSS coupled to the 430W (both the pitch and roll servos were overhauled within the last two years and the AP works flawlessly)
  • GMA340 audio panel
  • SL30 nav/comm
  • GTX330ES with ADSB out
  • KN64 DME
  • Dual GI-106a CDIs
  • Four-probe EGT/CHT monitor (EI UBG-16)
  • Fuel totalizer (EI FP-5L)
  • Backup electric AI
  • GPSMAP696 wired to audio panel for SiriusXM in-flight entertainment (there’s also an aux input in the panel)
  • Vertical compass card
  • Artex 406 MHz ELT battery expires 5/2021
  • IFR certification valid through 11/2021

Lycoming O-360-A4A (zero time Lycoming factory remanufactured engine installed in 2015, regularly flown around 100 hours per year since, now with 602 hours)

Recent starter, alternator, vacuum pump, solid-state voltage regulator and battery. Recent autopilot pitch and roll servo overhaul. At last annual replaced left mag with a SureFly electronic ignition module (and the right mag passed its 500 hour inspection).

This has been my personal airplane since 2016 and I used it for my instrument and commercial ratings. It has never been used as a primary trainer and there is no damage history.

Complete logs available in PDF upon request. Call us at (404) 692-2058 to discuss.
